چکیده

Abstract Before signals of a digital circuit reach steady state gates can have multiple transitions Since the power is dissipated in a CMOS circuit mainly due to transitions the extra transitions increase power consump tion These transitions are the hazard pulses generated by logic gates when signals arrive by paths of varying de lays The maximum width of a hazard pulse produced by a gate is the maximum di erence between the delays of inci dent paths which is generally much smaller than the clock period We propose suppression of hazard pulses by in creasing the delays of gates where hazards could have been generated Thus a hazard ltering gate has a delay which is at least as much as the di erential delay of its input paths We give examples to illustrate the novel technique and also indicate that the overall reduction in the circuit speed may not be too much with proper sizing of transis tors while there can be a signi cant reduction in power consumption

Filtering Power Divider/Combiner Based on Half Mode Substrate Integrated Waveguide (HMSIW) Technology for High Power Applications

A filtering power divider/power combiner based on half mode substrate integrated waveguide technology for high power applications is proposed. This design includes one half mode substrate integrated waveguide cavity, one matched load, and four sections of quarter-wavelength transmission lines. The high isolation between output ports is obtained by combining the half mode substrate integrated wa...

Active Power Filter Design by a Novel Approach of Multi-Objective Optimization

This paper presents an innovative active power filter design method to simultaneously compensate the current harmonics and reactive power of a nonlinear load. The power filter integrates a passive power filter which is a RL low-pass filter placed in series with the load, and an active power filter which comprises an RL in series with an IGBT based voltage source converter. The filter is assumed...

Transmission Reliability Cost Allocation Based on Contingency Filtering by Economic Indices in Large Power Systems

In this paper, the new approach for the transmission reliability cost allocation (TRCA) problem is proposed. In the conventional TRCA problem, for calculating the contribution of each user (generators & loads or contracts) in the reliability margin of each transmission line, the outage analysis is performed for all system contingencies. It is obvious that this analysis is very time-consuming fo...

Power filtering method with controllable inductance for eliminating thyristor rectifier load harmonics

In this paper, we propose a Controlled Inductance Power Filter (CIPF) to solve power quality problems in industrial DC power supply systems. This method is based on the theory of magnetic potential equilibrium combined with active hybrid filter technology. Initially the system structure and filter wiring scheme are presented and the equivalent circuit is performed with the mathematical models o...
